Food & drinks

The Silver Coast isn’t called ‘the real Portugal’ for nothing. In this region, you can still taste the authentic cuisine as it has been passed down for generations: honest, pure, and prepared with care. At the same time, you’ll also find surprising, modern influences here — always with respect for the original flavors.

During your stay in the area around the apartment, you’ll discover just how close good food actually is here. Along the coast, in places like Nazaré, fresh fish and seafood are brought in daily, often straight from the fishing boats to the kitchen. You won’t get it any fresher than that.

Inland too, around Caldas da Rainha, local production plays a major role. This is where high-quality vegetables, fruit, and meat come from, often still grown and prepared in the traditional way. You can really taste that on your plate.

What makes this region so special is its simplicity: good ingredients, prepared with care, without unnecessary additives. Whether you choose fish from the ocean or a classic grilled meat dish — the flavors are pure and full of character.

Specially for you, we have selected a number of fine restaurants in the area where you can experience this authentic Portuguese cuisine for yourself. From São Pedro de Moel to Caldas da Rainha: each and every one is a place where you eat like the locals do.

1: Restaurante O Tonico – Paredes da Vitória

In addition, the homemade cod and the “carne na pedra” — steak prepared on a hot natural stone — are also highly recommended. Combined with a carefully curated wine list, this restaurant is a favorite spot for foodies on the coast.
